What the room actually sounds like

Four tools. One domain. One day.
239× apart.

A real record, not a mock-up — virtualgroceries.com, every number observed on 19 August 2026. Nobody averaged anything.

Three of the four will not say what date the data behind their number comes from. That blank is the point: a number without a date is an opinion wearing a suit. Appraisail prints the blank instead of hiding it.

Why the gap is the story

One number tells you nothing. Four tell you where the argument is.

Nobody agrees

Across the names we hold records for, the widest same-day spread observed is 239×. These models do not merely disagree on magnitude — they disagree about which names are worth anything at all.

Every number is dated

Each card carries the date we observed it and, where the provider states it, the date of the data behind it. Where they will not say, it reads UNKNOWN. We never fill a blank with a guess.

The house is one voice

Our own model gets a card like everyone else — no bigger, no bolder. If it is the outlier, the page says so. An appraisal engine that always likes its own number is a sales pitch.

Who is at the bar

The House our modelGoDaddy / GoValueHumbleWorthEstiBotDynadotAtom

Anyone who is not pouring shows as unavailable rather than guessed. Where we hold a dated observation for a name, it appears as a recorded card carrying its date — never dressed up as a live call. Where we do not, you get the house number and a direct link to run it yourself.

Asked at the bar

Why do appraisal tools disagree so much?

They are trained on different sale sets, weight extensions and keywords differently, and refresh on their own schedules. Two tools looking at the same name on the same day can be a hundred times apart, and neither is lying — they are answering different questions with different data.

Which number should I trust?

None of them alone. A dated sale of the name itself outranks every estimate; a comparable sale outranks a model; a model with an undisclosed data date is the weakest evidence on the page. Appraisail shows all of it in that order and lets you decide.

Is an appraisal an offer?

No. An appraisal is an opinion produced by software. It is not a bid, not a guarantee, and not financial advice. Do your own diligence before you trade.

Where do the numbers come from?

Each provider’s official tool or API, or a dated observation the desk recorded and stamped with the day it was seen. Nothing is scraped, and nothing is averaged into a single fake consensus number.
